Jan has always been an experience maker and expressed her creative spirit through her songwriting and music performance, and paintings “But once I started going down to Nashville to co-write with other songwriters and artists, and attending workshops and other industry events, I realized that I was a songwriter at heart.” Her songs started getting attention and won 1st place in the country category for the USA Songwriting Competition. That recognition provided an invitation to play a showcase at the renowned Bluebird Cafe, and play at other Nashville iconic venues. Years later, her song “I Will,” cowritten with Randy Morrison and Matt Rogers, was recorded and released by Texas superstar Darrin Morris. The single went #1 on the Texas charts where it remained for 3 weeks. It won “Single of the Year,” and Darrin won “Artist of the Year,” at the Texas Country Music Awards in November 2021.
